Hypnosis

Fix your problems in a snap! Get hypnotized...

Hypnosis is a mystery to many people around the world. Hypnosis is an artificially induced altered state of consciousness, or sleeplike condition, characterized by heightened suggestibility and receptivity to direction. Most people believe that while you are hypnotized that you are in a sleeping state and do anything directed, but actually you are very hyperactive. It is such a mystery that even scientists and some researchers are misinterpreted. Hypnosis has a history dating back to the 1700s. The first recognizable practitioner of hypnosis was Franz Anton Mesmer, which used the power of suggestion to cure illnesses. There are many different forms of hypnosis. Some of these forms include driving a car, daydreaming, watching movies, or anything that focuses your brain on the task at hand rather than the actions being done around you. Hypnosis can be good and bad, but depending on what form it is, it can have different effects and dangers.

There are many two common forms a person is hypnotized. The first form of hypnotism involves everyday activities. Some of these activities include daydreaming, driving a car, watching television or a movie, mowing the lawn, drawing a pictures, reading, or anything that you do on a daily basis that takes your mind off the actions going on around you. What hypnosis does is it sort of sends the brain into cruise control and lets your subconscious part of your brain take over. This is the part of the brain that is active when you are sleeping at night. The subconscious part of the brain is actually the “control panel” to everything you do. This part of the brain actually tells the conscious part of the brain what to do. The subconscious part even tells you to breathe without you having to think about it. It works without you realizing it. Not only breathing but it also tells the brain what muscles to move. You don't have to sit thee and think of how you have to move each muscle for running because your subconscious brain does that for you.

Another form of hypnosis deals with health relations. Hypnosis can be used in situations to help a person's addiction such as smoking. For instance the hypnotist can “program” your brain so that when you think about smoking a cigarette that you will get a sick feeling in your stomach. Other things we know is that under hypnosis it's easy for people to access memories far back in your mind that you may not be able to remember. Scientists have discovered that this is not always a good way to access memories because since the subconscious mind is where your imagination takes over, that you can often have false memories. This is where your mind actually makes up a memory that may not have actually happened. This is why psychiatrists must be very careful while trying to learn more from a client who is in a hypnotic state. Some people have discovered way to do self hypnosis, but it's never actually been tested by scientists to see how well it really works.

Hypnosis can happen very easily on daily everyday basis when enduring normal activities, but sometimes hypnosis can be taken dangerously. One way that hypnotism can be dangerous, is if it is used by unlicensed health professionals. They are sometimes known to suggest intense emotions in their clients that they are untrained to handle. These actions might occur when spontaneously recalling of traumatic events or something that a person might not want to bring back in their mind. Most licensed professionals are not trained in this technique. Another way it can be dangerous is by false memory, such as if someone were to be hypnotized to remember something crucial, for example, being abducted by aliens, they are so suggestible to ideas and thoughts that they might actually make up something that didn't actually happen.

In conclusion, hypnosis is mistaken very easily for sleeping, although it isn't sleeping at all. It is used day-to-day in activities such as driving, daydreaming, or reading, and in other cases it can be used in health related practices such as quitting a habit or addiction. Although hypnosis has its good qualities, it can also be misused in ways also. To this day, hypnosis is still a widely known mystery to scientists and researches all over the world and is still being researched for more facts.
