What to of the unborn child or the pregnant women? Smoking constricts the blood vessels and arteries in the uterus, it deprives the unborn baby of the needed oxygen and nutrients it needs to grow. Also do you smokers realize the there is poisonous carbon monoxide that passes through the placenta, and it reaches the unborn baby. Dr. Mary B. Meyer of the John Hopkins School of hygiene and Public Health, says: "That smoking increases the risk of abortion, stillbirth, and pre-term delivery ."
When we see the harm that smoking does to the smoker as well as the non-smoker who is forced to breath his/her smoke, this gives good reasons to prohibit smoking in public places. The good book, the Bible states at 2Corinthians 7:1; "Let us cleanse ourselves of every defilement of flesh and spirit." It is clear that smoking sickens the smoker as those who are around them. How then can a smoker claim to love others who desire to remain undefiled by their smoke?
I entreat all smokers to really think hard about what they are doing to themselves as well as others. Those who are medical professionals, need to take the lead in banning all smoking in hospitals, doctors offices and wherever their patients are. You professionals owe it to your patients and to the oath you took when you became a nurse or doctor. As to everyone else, if you can read this article and still feel you have a right to smoke and endanger the life of others, then you need help because you are truly addicted to the tar and nicotine. God hates the actions others take that hurt or endanger those around them. . We all need to show our love for one another and the smoker if he truly loves others will not continue to smoke and if he needs to, should go to a private Island where there is no other human being around them, because their smoke causes the same hazards as if they take a gun and shot us non-smokers.
Please, Please stop smoking. Our continued life here on earth depends on our younger generation and the generations still not born. What kind of earth will they have if we ruin it by pollution and other things such as smoking? Think of our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and if we can do anything to help them , let's ban smoking in public places, and let the smoker's stop smoking. This will prove your love for yourself and more important the love for others. Yes, smoking should be banned in all public places and eventually everywhere else in the very near future. You smokers can be a part of the modern society that wants a clean air and better health
