Gambling, stealing, murder, unchastity and drugs are five cardinal sins which we should be avoided though they may appear to bring pleasure for the time being. A drug is one of this evil that is misused by human beings. The past history of China has explained to us that how Chinese people have been ruined by the drugs. A whole nation was brought to disgrace because of the opium.
Why people take drugs? Some may think it is to add happiness and pleasure in their life time, other may think that drugs can take away their physical tiredness, worries and agonies. In cold countries, people take drugs to warm themselves. While in small doses, drugs do no harm but act as medicine; and they can never bring "endless" pleasure.
However, in huge doses, one may experience doping effect and hence at the spur of the moment the person may act vigorously but will find himself relatively fatigue and weakness later. When someone sustains the consumption of drugs in large quantities uncontrollably, and out of time, they became addicted to drugs.
There are drugs and drugs flooded in the market and one can obtain drugs everywhere and every time. Drugs are the most powerful atomic bombs that can ruin the universe of human body within short periods. When our nation are manipulated and slaved by drugs, they become useless rubbish.
Opium is one of the common drugs ever since human civilization started to develop. These drugs affect the nervous system especially small brains which control the voluntary action. Thus, a man under the influence of drugs is unable to walk properly. They have to stagger hardly along the path. They can neither see properly nor recognize the shapes, signs, objects or faces.
Also, under the influence of drugs, they deaden man's senses until he could hardly speak or even spell the words. Very often under the influence of drugs, people committed with shameful acts. The continual consumption of drugs addiction may upset the digestive system, particularly the liver, and subsequently leading to death.
Drugs do not add to mental alertness as claimed and perceived by drugs addicts. In contrary, drugs numb our mental due to their soporific effect. In order to escape away from affliction and problems, people take drugs believing that drugs may answer their troubles. In reality, drugs never answer to their worry and troublesome. But, drugs worsen the condition of drug addicts. Obviously, drug addiction brings moral degradation. The addict himself knows the fact and so he only consumes them in “secret chamber” and does not want himself to be tagged as “alien”. It is always against all religious sanctions. Apparently, it leads oneself to immoral and evil activities.
Socially, he would be a nuisance wherever he is, at home or in company. He would bring untold misery to his people and those around him. Except in the company of addicts, he would be looked upon as leper. His family will also share the ignominy because people will point the accusing finger at such family. So when considered wisely one should by all means avoid drugs.
Nowadays drugs like marijuana, LSD, opium and others are being taken by young generations under false pretense. It is really unfortunate that they do not realize the harmful effect of drugs on their health and future. Certainly, the drugs are not great things and they do not even increase one's pleasure and happiness. If one thinks like that it is only an illusion.
So, it is best to get away from these scary things. Remember that drug addictions may ruin physical strength, immune system, mental upset, moral degradation besides lowering down the body's functionality. So for the health' sake, one should dread them and should never be tempted by drugs.
