Good nutrition awareness is such an important part of any good anti aging program that I cannot stress it enough. Great nutrition will not only give your body and mind the nutrients that they require and give you the adequate energy to perform your much needed daily exercising but it will also help your supplements work better for you since there are some supplements that are fat soluble and thus need to be taken with a meal that contains a good fat of some sort for example selenium which is a great anti oxidant is indeed fat soluble and it assimilates much more effectively if you take it with a meal that contains a fat of some sort.
I would recommend eating some avocado with the meal or perhaps dressing your salad or soup with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil (please note that when olive oil is exposed to heat many of its health benefits are diminished, please try to use grape seed oil as it has much higher concentrations of gamma linoleic acid and a much higher smoking point than olive oil) Good nutrition also saves you money! Imagine that, healthy persons do not spend as much on doctors, medicine and other remedy's since they use preventative nutrition to stay healthy.
If you eat well, and your nutrition is optimal then you will find that your portions do not become so strict, for example if a person were to consume what is considered to be the “ideal” breakfast that most Americans eat - sugary cereal, pasteurized, processed “juice”, whole milk (extra hormones please), white bread toast with sugary jelly and butter, and a cup of coffee more sugar and cream please, not only would most people starving by midmorning and mentally sluggish throughout the day because of their nutritionally deficient first morning meal, instead choose whole grains such as oats and an unlimited abundance of fresh organic fruit and you will see that you are sustained for longer, some of those pesky allergies that you had when consuming dairy almost immediately disappear and you feel more energetic.
Most older persons naturally have slower digestive systems and thus feel “clogged up” starting your day with a bowl of fiber rich organic oats is one of the best things you can do for yourself, if you then add some wild organic blueberries to the bowl all of a sudden you have hit the nutritional jackpot. Blue berries are so important for older ones and for all whom are aging every day (that means all of us!) since blue berries contain anti carcinogens they help strengthen the immune system and help eradicate cells that may be malignant due to their anti oxidant properties. So there you have it folks it is indeed possible to start the day off in a nutritionally sound manner! As you can see a whole foods diet brings about the best chances for longer survival, now if we can couple a diet that is low in saturated fats, full of organic fruits and vegetables, whole grains, minimal animal protein, high fiber and the recommended amount of clean drinkable water every day we can rest assured that we will be eating with anti aging in mind.
