We have no choice, as soon as we are born, we begin to age. If we live long enough, then we have to see the bloom or our youth fade. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing to mature or get older, by all means, please do so. It is important however, to keep a youthful attitude and to enjoy life regardless of our age. We all learn to take pleasure in different things as we slow down and grow older, in some cases, ideals we would not have looked for happiness in, when younger and full of too much energy. If we put some effort into these simple exercises, they will help us slow that process of “feeling” older.
SMILE, LAUGH AND PLAY
When we smile, we use less muscles in our faces than when we frown, and that means - you guessed it - less wrinkles. Laughter and playfulness go hand in hand, the more we laugh and play, the happier we are, the less we frown… you can see where I'm going with this. KEEP A POSITIVE ATTITUDE
Being negative, takes a lot of energy not only from yourself but also from those around you. This depletes that youthful vim, vigour and vitality. It also causes us to frown and that means frown lines. DON'T FRET OR WORRY
If you constantly worry about things that you have no control over, you worry for nothing. This is a huge waste of time and causes more frown lines and worry lines - not to mention the gray hairs. If your concern is with things that are within your control, then you should be able to be proactive. Working toward changing or improving a situation is ten times better than sitting around fretting and stressing over it. RELAX
Spoil yourself, often. Book a massage (many massage therapy schools are quite cheap and they need tense bodies to practice on). Put your feet up and take as much “me” time as you can, soak in a hot tub or read a good book - whatever it takes. Unwind whenever you begin to feel tense, it is vital to your health and well being, and it will keep you happy and youthful. AVOID STRESSFUL SITUATIONS
If at all possible, it is important to keep distress to a minimum. For example, if you are invited somewhere you believe there will be someone you don't like or that will give you trouble, and it will be more stress than fun, don't go. It's plain and simple, if you like to shop but don't like crowds, pick a time to shop when there are none, early in the morning or later in the evening. I'm not saying that you can completely avoid all stressful situations but you can certainly cut back, and that will make a big difference. GET YOUR BEAUTY SLEEP
Having a good nights rest is an important factor in youthfulness. It prevents dark circles under the eyes, and puffiness. When we are tired, stress can more easily affect us and that is not a desirable thing. Not only that, but we tend to be a bit more careless and are more likely to get hurt driving or at work. MEDITATION
Meditating can help with all of the above - really. It helps with sleeping, it makes relaxing much easier, and not only that, just the act of learning something new can take your mind off of your troubles.
