Green tea is becoming more and more popular with all class of people throughout the world after hearing of its wide range of medicinal benefits that many researchers have been finding in recent years. As of late, some researchers have found that it is able to control blood glucose levels.
Are All Green Teas Alike?
Yes and no. It all depends on where they originate. We are told that there is only one true tea and this comes from the Camillia tree (called the Camillia sinensis) native of China. One must not confuse herbal tea with green tea. Herbal tea is usually used for immediate response, such as promoting calmative sleep, relaxing a queasy stomach, etc., though it also has some more lengthy medicinal benefits.
Effects Of True Teas
True teas have a long-term effect on the human body. Because green tea possesses more antioxidants than any known vegetable or fruit, when some green tea is drunk regularly, it will slow the free radical cell destruction in the human body and slow the aging process.
Some researchers found that because green tea has the properties to regulate blood sugar along with other teams of researcher findings that the spice Cinnamon also possessed similar qualities and that by adding as little as 1/4 Tsp. to your tea one time per day would act as a double whammy in the control of glucose levels, helping or even preventing the onset of Type II Diabetes. It can readily be seen that by having more than one cup and sharing the Cinnamon in the two helpings would spread out the effects over the whole day.

Where Is The Best Place To Purchase Green Tea?
The best place I know of is at a “specialty” or “organic” food store. Most any supermarkets or even your favorite corner store would also carry green tea, but the specialty store would tend to carry the more quality line, or organically grown, for those who are not for chemical fertilizers, though at a slightly higher price. It is true that tea is not necessarily pleasant tasting to many people. I guess it has to be acquired like coffee, or beer.
Even though we are told that the tea tree, i.e. Camillia sinensis is native to China, we are also made aware that the best organically grown tea originates from the Small Organic Farmers Association (S.O.F.A.), from Sri Lanka (Ceylon), off the southeast coast of India.
