Five More Timesaving Tips for Looking Younger

Many people are already familiar with the skincare basics of appearing younger. Here are five other tips not discussed as often that also take little time and will save money.

In the first article I wrote about Five Minutes to Younger Looking Skin, I detailed the quickest and most effective strategies for forcing your skin into it's most youthful condition without surgery or spending a lot of money. Those strategies included Exfoliating, Moisturizing, Protecting your skin with Sunblock, using a Humidifier, and using Unscented Products with Vitamins E&C. The article was received so well, I decided to write a few more beauty secrets used for younger looking skin that take very little time and money.

  1. Use Microdermabrasion Products

These products are designed with the intention of peeling away deep layers of dead skin. While this can be painful and expensive when done in a doctor's office, you can get the same results with weekly Microdermabrasion skincare products. I highly recommend Mary Kay's Microdermabrasion Set which currently costs $55, is painless, can be done as often as you like, and will last you several months.

      Timesaving Tip:

Put step 1 of a Microdermabrasion Set in your shower and use it twice a week.
      1. Use Teeth-Whitening Products

Nothing says “old” faster then yellow teeth. Since products like cigarettes, coffee, tea and soda have all built a reputation for yellowing teeth, it's especially important to focus on keeping teeth whitened. Crest has a wide variety of whitening toothpastes that taste delightful, while Listerine has come up with a whitening mouthwash. There are also several home whitening products on the market that can help you keep your chompers “pearly.”

        Timesaving Tip:

Put an extra toothbrush and whitening toothpaste in your shower so you never forget to brush before running out the door.
        1. Use a Toothbrush To Give Your Lips A Glow

When brushing your teeth in the shower, don't forget to scrub your lips. This will help soften your kisser and prevent chapping. The heat and moisture from the water loosens the skin, while a toothbrush gently rubs the dead skin away. Scrub outside the lip line, and you can reduce fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth.

          Timesaving Tip:

Use a lip balm or gloss with a lip liner to add a bit of color and some deep moisturizing.
          1. Use Blush or Bronzer

Young skin has color, period. Look at any child and you will see pink healthy cheeks and sparkling eyes. By simply applying a bit of blush or bronze to the apples of your face, you will give the illusion of natural, youthful and healthy skin. Also add blush to your upper eyelids in place of eye shadow for an all-over youthful glow.

            Timesaving Tip:

For rounder faces, use blush under your cheekbones to emphasize their shape. For more mature faces, put the blush higher on the apple of the cheek to give the illusion of firmer skin.
            1. Don't Forget The Neck

The neck is the truest betrayer of age. While you can reverse signs of aging on the face, it is much harder to reverse signs of aging on the neck. Be sure to use anti-aging products on your neck twice a day for the best results.

              Timesaving Tip:

Always start cleaning at the base of the neck while working your way upward.

Add these tips to your daily or weekly regime to make the most positive changes that will begin to appear in as little as 10 days.

Thanks for the great tips, ET. You mentioned a couple that I will be sure to use.

              Great article!

Great tips. I quite like the one about brushing your lips. Many times when I get photographed, I think that my lips look a bit chapped in the pictures.

Could I respectfully add this: don't smoke or drink heavily, and eat lots of fruit and veg. Drink water (not fizzy drinks, leave that to the kids whose bodies can get rid of that rubbish faster) and get a decent amount of sleep.

Hey ET...I don't know anything about this stuff, but I'm sure your article will help those that want help. It sounds good to me, at least, and I can appreciate the nice, easy writing style.
