Your husband is taking you out for dinner without the baby. Or you're going back to work. Or maybe you just want to look superior at Mom and Tot. Some beauty tips for new moms:

1. Frame Yourself:

   Get your eyebrows done. It will open up your eyes and make you look cheery. Don't be a perfectionist on this one - the ten dollar special at the mall is all you need here. If you're pressed for time, and of course you are, call ahead. You can book an appointment for when you would have been at the mall buying diapers anyway. Five minutes and you're out looking like you have a vague idea what your bed looks like.

2. Concealed Weapon:

   Concealer is crucial so spend a little money getting a decent one. Cheap concealer tends to fade pretty quickly. Also, try putting in on with a sponge, it's actually faster and blends easier, making you look less like a finger painting.

3. Highlight Your Assets:

   Highlighter goes immediately under the browbone, and looks fantastic. Do not do this if your brows are unruly - you will only call attention to them. Get this in lilac or white, and avoid anything with shimmer right now. Your skin is probably neglected and anything shimmery will find all your rough spots, dry spots, and wrinkly spots and settle in. You'll end up looking old and patchy.

4. Rock-Solid Foundation:

   Avoid anything too heavy right now since you're probably not alert enough to put it on properly anyway. All you're trying to do is eliminate blotchiness, not apply war paint. The made-up-with-a-trowel look is not a good one.

5. Brighten Your Day:

   Whitening your teeth is easier than ever, and you can do it while you sleep. There are so many amazing toothpastes and whitening systems out there these days at the drugstore price point. You don't have to spend a fortune to have whiter teeth. Remember to smile, though, or your efforts are wasted.

Bonus: Wear brighter colors. Black is like a reflection of what's already there. If you look hot, black makes you look hotter. If you look washed out, guess what black does. Also, when the baby pukes on you right before you walk out the door, and she will, it looks a lot worse on black than it does on any other color.
