Is Your Lipstick Safe?

An average woman absorbs 2lb of lipstick in her lifetime But what, exactly, is she absorbing? Discover the chemicals that the big brands don't tell you about and what they're doing to you.

Many lipstick makers don't provide you with the list of ingredients that they use- but many renowned brands, including Vaseline, use toxic, drying ingredients in their lipsticks.

Beeswax

This is just regular beeswax from the honeycomb of trees- it is safe!

Lakes colors

They come from aluminum, barium, potassium and strontium and are not safe!

Candelilla wax

Comes from a plant and is safe

Carmine

A red dye from the shell of a female beetle. Can cause allergic reactions.

Iron Oxides

Iron + Oxygen. Non-Toxic

Lanolin

Comes from Oil Glands of sheep and can cause allergic reactions.

Petrolatum

Can cause allergic reactions, and is not good for your skin as it tends to dry out skin- causing the wearer to use more!

In a lifetime, the average woman absorbs 2lb of lipstick! However, there are many safe lipsticks out there, so find out what you're applying!
