Step 1
Always start with a good moisturizer. This will make your foundation and the rest of your makeup glide on smoothly; everything will be easier to apply. Look for a daytime moisturizer or a hydrating freshener spray. Let it stay on your skin for a few minutes so the moisturizer is absorbed.
Step 2
Apply foundation to the center of your face, the area where you'll most need coverage. To spread the foundation evenly, put a dot of foundation on your forehead, both cheeks and your chin.
Step 3
With a wedge sponge, spread foundation over yours kin with quick movements, working from the center of your face outwards. Apply foundation to your eyelids, the grooves of your nose, and the sides of your lips. Work that sponge up to the hairline, over the jawline, and down the neck toa void harsh edges. You don't' want to look like you're wearing a mask; foundation should be like second skin. You can even apply foundation left on the sponge over your ears. End your blending with downward strokes so that facial hair lies down flat.
Step 4
If you have dark spots on your face, you can use a concealer, but applied with a light hand. Using a finger, blend in a little concealer under your eyes and on blemishes, on top of your foundation. You can also use a lighter shade of foundation in lieu of concealer.
Step 5
Finish off by dusting your entire face with loose powder. Dab a wide brush into the jar of powder, then pat the brush against the back of your hand to shake off excess particles. Again, brush from the center and work your way out to the edges of your face. Do not forget to brush a little powder onto your ears and neck area. Use a light hand.
