Olive Oil for Your Skin

The use of olive oil as cleanser and moisturizer.

Have you considered using Olive Oil as a cleanser or moisturizer? Well, why not? This is the same olive oil that you use to dip your breads in and to cook with. Use Extra Virgin Olive oil, its the highest quality oil from the first press of olive oil. Some people recommend using cold press too so the oils are not hurt by heat.

For cleansing, put some olive oil onto a cotton pad and wipe over your face. Alternatively, pour a little bit into your palms, spread it on your palms then spread it on your face, massaging gently. As oil is the only thing that can remove oil from your face, the olive oil will act on the oil on your face, loosening blackheads and cleaning off your makeup.

After that, wash off with a normal foaming cleanser. Your face will feel very clean but not dry as the olive oil will help prevent your skin from drying out.

For moisturizer, some people recommend applying a light layer on your skin before you go to bed. It works best on dry skin or in winter. Definitely not recommended for oily skin.

If it works for you, you've just saved lots of money on expensive skincare!

I have dry skin, olive oil (the kind you cook with) is the best oil I've ever used. It absorbs quickly, wears well under make up, and oderless. I'm often asked my age, (49). I have no wrinkles, or crows feet. I recommend extra virgin olive oil for the whole body. If you can digest it in the body, you can use it on the body.

I have oily T-zone and Olive oil has improved it. So why not use it on oily skin as it helps to balance the natural oils in your skin.

I just recently got a really bad sunburn on my face, it was very dry and peeling, so after I cleansed my face a applied a generous of olive oil on my entire face and massaged it in. It worked wonders!!!!!
