I am a consultant for The Body Shop at Home and in my kit I received this hand cream. I always pass it around for my customers to try at my parties and they comment on how soft they make their hands feel.
The cream comes in a metallic tube with a plastic screw top lid. The shape is somewhat like a toothpaste tube but bigger. It is a dull grey colour with a green and brown box on the front. This features a cannabis leaf and the name of the product. The back has a green box which includes information on hemp seed oil.
One of the ingredients in this product is hemp seed oil. Hemp seed oil contains essential fatty acids. They are called essential because our body needs them but does not produce them. These fatty acids help re-establish and sustain the moisture levels of the skin, making it a great deal softer. Other ingredients include allantoin which soothes the skin and panthenol to help condition the nails.
The cream is light green in colour and relatively thick so there is no need to squeeze very much out. It rubs into your hands well, without leaving any obvious marks. Immediately your hands feel softer and smoother without feeling greasy.
The smell of the cream is something I would describe as “earthy.” It reminds me of cut grass in a way but slightly dirtier. I have to say the smell is not my favourite thing about this cream but it is not too bad.
£9.00 for a tube of hand cream does seem relatively steep at first but the tube is 100ml and you do only need to use a small amount so it should last a fairly long time.
The Body Shop also sells white cotton gloves to use with this cream for a more intensive treatment. You apply the cream and then wear the gloves. This can be done while you are just sat watching the TV or reading etc.
Other products in the hemp range are available at The Body Shop. These include: body butter, face protector and foot protector. Like the hand protector these are aimed at people who have very dry skin.
Overall Id say this was an excellent cream for people who have very dry skin. It is very suitable for men as well as woman as if anything, the packaging does actually look more masculine. Also the smell is not feminine or “girly.”
