Party Perfect Hair for the Holidays

Every woman wants that perfect hair-do for all the parties of the holiday season. Here is your guide for the perfect smooth-blown-out do.

A long smooth blow-out is perfect for all the parties, and dinners you will be attending this holiday season, it's easy to achieve the perfect look with the right tools, and products.

Here is all you need in order to get that perfect hair style for the office party, or any of the to-dos you will be attending throughout the holidays.

Shampoo and blot your hair with a towel to remove excess moisture.

If your hair is coarse, work in a styling cream like Redkin Align 12 Ultra Straight Balm ($16.00 at Salons) through hair. Clip up top hair, and dry in sections. Use a large round brush to hold hair taunt as you direct air flow from roots to ends. Release top layers in small sections and continue drying.

If your hair is wavy, comb a straightening cream into your hair. Try Mark Salon Straight Smoothing Balm ($5.00: Meetmark). Blow hair as directed about, blowing hair toward, and around face.

If your hair is fine, build up body with a smoothing lotion like Sunsilk Straighten-Up 24-7 Crème ($4.00: Drugstore). Dry hair in sections lifting up and away to create volume.

Here are also some quick fixes for make-up mistakes you might make when you are getting ready for that big party.

Got a little heavy handed with blush or lipstick?

If you put on to much powder blush, Sweep a clean fluffy brush across your cheeks, then wipe it on towel to remove excess blush. Continue brushing and wiping until you get the right intensity. For cream blush, lightly smooth on lotion to water down the color.

If you put on to much eye shadow, layer a lighter shade over it. A shimmery taupe neutralizes most colors. To try: Jane Iredale Eye Shadow in Taupe ($17.50 at department stores).

Lipstick to heavy? Apply a clear gloss or balm over it. Blot with a tissue, and repeat until you like the effect.

Great tips. I'm going to try the one for wavy hair.

Thank you girls for your comments. I would have to get someone to do mine too if I had enough hair left. I had mine styled a few weeks ago, and the beautician almost scalped me. It will take awhile to grow back. Hopefully it will grow back!

I like your hair tips. I would definitely have to try the tip for coarse hair. There are times when it gets hard to comb my naps out. LOL!

I love the long smooth look too. It's hard to get when your hair is curly.

I like the short curly look better. I'm joshing but I do wear my hair short and it is curly.

Thanks Suzzann, Ramona, and Amos. I like any style if there is some hair to work with. Mine has grown out now so it's getting back to normal. I don't know if I will ever get it cut again.
