Ringworm is usually seen on arms and legs. The most common form of it is one or several raised round sores on the skin. They seem to heal in the centre while the edges continue to grow outward. Sometimes the healed centre gets reinfected and then a second ring develops and grows inside the original ring. In some cases the centre does not heal at all.
A ringworm sore starts, as a small slightly raised area with a reddish color. Then it grows redder and there may be some blisters and a slight itching or burning sensation.
Ringworm of the scalp is another common type of ringworm. This is a very contagious form and children catch it easily.
It is very difficult to destroy the fungi that cause ringworm, so treatment of the patient usually consists of trying to prevent the infection from spreading, until it eventually ends.
Ringworm is a highly contagious disease, and it can be spread by animals as well as human beings. Objects that are handled by people with ringworm can infect other individuals.
The best way to treat it is to catch this disease in its first stages. We must consult a doctor immediately so that necessary treatment begins to see that it does not spread to other parts of body and help to get rid of it as quickly as possible.
