Scrub Typhus

This is a report about how bad this disease is.

Diagnosis

When you get bit by that awful mite ulcer forms at the bite. Your first symptoms that might happen is are lymphadenopathy (a rich word for swollen glands) and a colossal rash on your back going down. After 10-12 days your body will feel and big Flu, Head Aches, and Fever. Next within 5-8 days the red rash grows bigger and brighter for you to see. The mortality rate is 35% with death and the second infection. Re-infection is uncommon to certain people.

To Prevent It

If you don’t want the tick to bite you these following things will help. You should wear protective clothes and try to stay away from the areas the tick lives. Once the tick hatches on to you, take it off quickly or the tick’s venom with ooze into your blood which will start the horrible rash. Wear insect repellent containing: dibutyl phthalate, benzyl benzoate, diethyl toluamide, and other chemicals. Try your best to save your self from this.

Vaccines

There are currently no vaccines to be found. But there is a big treatment for you in a  Hospital. The doctors will use a lot a antibiotics on you to clear the big red rash. Next they will put an ice pack to take away the fever. But don’t worry there are lots of treatments to take care of Scrub Typhus and vaccines will be found soon. Don’t think you will die even if the mortality rate is 35% you will live.
