There are three major miasms: psora, sycosis, and syphilis. Everyone has psora but as for the others miasms, it is based on heredity if an individual posses these. A psoric person is best described as being “a hostage of nature”. These people are vulnerable and feel fearful. They often have a loss of balance with nature and seek protection. They doubt themselves and suffer from anxiety and frustration. Because of these feelings that dwell inside, psoric people suffer from acute illnesses but as long as the disharmony continues within, the acute cases can become chronic which turns this type of person into a ticking bomb. This leads us to the next miasm, sycosis.
A sycosis individual does have psora but it has progressed. A sycotic person often feels that they are of most importance. They are in control and focus more on what is happening around them but within these individuals lies chaos that can reek havoc down the road. They refuse to see themselves as vulnerable and do whatever is necessary not to be seen that way. Due to this they tend to keep busy and to ignore any signs of distress their bodies may be trying to tell them. To these types of people, acknowledging stress shows weakness, so they continue at an even faster pace until their bodies decide to take over the situation by producing a heart attack or another similar condition. At this point, they can regain health by accepting and moving to psora. But if they continue to ignore the message from their body, they find themselves in syphilis.
Syphilis is best described by the using the word “destruction”. This miasm has the power to destroy the individual if not treated. Instead of things being well planned and organized as they would have been in sycosis, everything here is chaotic and overwhelming. A syphilitic person feels confused and often frightened. They seek to keep busy, or at least keep their minds busy. They are faced more often with the fact that they are vulnerable and can not control what they would like. You will see these types of individuals abusing drugs or even commit suicide. They have emotional outbursts that can leave those around them fearful of their behavior. These people are known to either die suddenly or experience mental breakdowns. They could also suffer with a chronic incurable disease. This would be a horrible way to have to live your life. With the explanations of the three major miasms, it makes sense to listen to your body and find balance within.
