Extent Of Acceptability Of The Effects Of Breast Cancer Among Patients Of Malignant Cases.

This research measures the extent of acceptability of women regarding breast cancer. The researchers used quantitative-descriptive research method of design as primary tool in analyzing and interpreting data with the aid of questionnaire. This research was conducted from March to June 2005. Respondents were chosen according to the malignancy of their cancer and 5 women affected with malignant breast cancer were taken as the respondents of the study. The interview was conducted from January 2005 to March 2005 in accumulating pertinent data among 5 respondents intended for tabular purposes. Tables provided in this research were based from the respondent's answers from the questions distributed by the researchers. These data were very significant in presenting salient points of the study.

Results shows that under physiological on the level of acceptability of women with breast cancer gathered a TWM of 3.4 with a descriptive rating of fully acceptable under psychological aspect had a TWM of 2.46 or with a descriptive rating of moderately acceptable. That the level of acceptability on the side effects of chemotherapy as perceived by the respondents had TWM of 2.6 or moderately acceptable. Majority of the respondents moderately accept several changes in their body due to several side effects of chemotherapy. The result of ANOVA was 1.02, the level of significance of the study is higher than the .05 level of significance, therefore the study is reject that there is no significant difference on the extent of acceptability of the effect of breast cancer among patients of malignant cases according to their age and civil status. The study shows that there is a significant difference on their acceptability of the effect of breast cancer as to age and civil status.

This finding indicates that the that the respondents were able to accept their situations as well as the factors contribute to breast cancer regardless of their age and civil status. Therefore the researchers recommend that the respondents should be aware of several signs and symptoms for better understanding of their ailment and the respondents should adopt several coping practices to deal with several changes in their body brought by treatment of the illness.
