The Sole, Aids/HIV Remedy

Medicine is making a slow progress on the HIV Aids problem. The ARV's are playing a big role in the Spread of the Disease. The situation just worsens every other day. Every one just preaches the same old message,..abstain..be faithful..use a condom...blood checking before marriage etc. And yet they are all skipping the what would have been an effective and simple solution.

The major problem that the current generation faces is Aids, a sexually transmitted disease that’s got no cure. Despite the fact that it has no cure, man can over-come it the way he did over come other problems using during the evolution journey, using the tools of management

Man has tried so much to use the sensitization tool to fight AIDS, and a lot of achievements have been done, in this direction. He has also made so many discoveries like the anti-reviral drugs that do not actually cure the disease but lengthen the life span of the victim, giving him more time to spread the scourge. In Africa in general and Uganda in particular, the actual numbers of the Dead and the HIV positive can not be ascertained because many death go un recorded, many sick people do not even seek treatment, and the government has never tried to find out this data, an assignment which if not impossible would be extremely hard because many people cant confess to being HIV positive.

The tools for managing the diseases shall remain, abstinence, having protected sex, getting blood tests before marriage, being faithful to ones partner, to mention but a few. But still, there is a management tool that has not been used that can be effective.

In the biblical days, man decided to manage the leprosy disease by isolating the leapers until the remedy was got. For fear of being called advocates of stigmatization, man no longer uses this tool to tackle his problems. Yet these tools, like any other wisdom from the past can be improved upon and implemented. There are other methods of getting the disease but the highest percentage of the victims get it through having un-protected sex with positive people. The HIV positive people are protected from stigmatization. A lot of sensitization has been done on this too, and the results have been positive. The creed is do not fight the HIV positive, but fight HIV the disease. But the HIV negative have not been protected, from the HIV positive. Let an incentive be given to people to come up and testify that they are positive. This should be especially free medication, etc, but for one to qualify for this, he or she should allow to have an indelible mark in his palm. This is a mark that should show that some one is HIV positive. Let the employers too be given the right to recruit only the labeled HIV positive or the HIV negative. This will check the spread of the disease, and thus will save the firms from losing skilled labor, some of which they have trained expensively to AIDS. If well managed, the virus will eventually die out, even before the cure is discovered.

Women emancipation has been practiced to save women from being oppressed by men. Affirmative action has enabled the girl child to compete favorably with the boy child. The disabled have been reserved seats in the parliament and local governments in Uganda in particular and African in general. In all these cases, a given set of human beings is protected from the other. This can be done to the HIV negative too. They can be protected from the HIV positive. As the science tries to look for a remedy, let the humanities do some thing, so as to slow down the rate.

Due to its repercussions, many places have been declared no smoking zones. Of recent, suggestions have been made to burn cigarette smoking in the public. This is equivalent to isolating the smokers from the non-smokers, in order to protect the non-smokers. It could be applied to HIV AIDS too, in the way stipulated above.

Please note that, this disease mainly affects the active people. If you are academically, economically politically, or socially active, then you are the kind that’s prone catching AIDS. This disease mostly affects energetic people, who have spare energy for sex, and newborn babies that pick it from their mothers.

This implies that if it’s not managed in time, it might reach a time when it will be impossible to manage because most of the people that would have fought it, the energetic, will have succumbed to it, while the rest are positive. At that time, the last people standing will have become sure of the human extinction, and man will blame no one but him self, for the failure to manage this scourge. Thus when you fight AIDS, you are not only fighting to survive, you are fighting to save the human race. Out fore fathers, call them zenji-thropus, early man, Neanderthal man, snow man…etc… fought human extinction at a time when they could not even light fire, or build a house. It would be very absurd if with all the wisdom we have today, we do not fight for the same cause. All means that can be used to fight AIDS should be used.

Please also note that, there are creatures whose evolution man has interrupted. For instance If a chimpanzee becomes too cleaver, and interrupts with human activities, its shot dead. Also, man has killed many of them for other reasons such as hunting as a hobby, food etc. Many animals are restricted to certain areas. Others are fed, and thus their survival instinct killed, yet this would be one of the greatest forces of evolution. But on the extinction of man, these animals, if not extinct will evolve and a new human race will come up. The problem is that there will be a very big time gap. There are so many tools of the early man, in museums whose functions are not told because he left no manuals on how to use them. So, the new human race too will not be able to use our wisdom, because even if we leave manuals, they are bound not to use the same languages and letters like us. They will have to start form scratch. But that’s if man’s activities does not extinct them first.

Sincerely, when the government protects a citizen from a murderer, a thief, an arsonist or any other person bound to hurt him, it has protected humanity. But if it really has to save humanity, there is a more massive killer than a thief, or an arsonist, called AIDS carried by human beings. The governments of the world should come up and indeed protect the AIDS free people, from those that are positive. Enough is enough; there is no room for being shy any more. Let’s put a stop to this!

I'm really outrageous at this article. You have made me simply speechless. Since I'm a very polite person I'm not going to use offensive language, but the policies you suggest not only attempt against our human rigth to privacy, but they are also xenophobic. It is simply incredible that somebody can even think of that. This policy is just like Apartheid in Africa or caste system in India.

Am so sorry if you are hurt by this Evvie, but some time we have to face the cruel reality, in order to go past it. I know you could be having beloved ones with HIV etc, but have you thought for a minute that the writer could also be having HIV positive relatives, or that he the writer himself could be positive? If you had, you would not have compared this with apartheid, or the caste issue in India. Would you rather have the whole human race wiped off the face of earth, just to ensure that the HIV positive get there privacy? I do not think so. After all, it’s just a matter of having an indelible mark on the palm, which can be hidden anyway. But at least when it comes to moments where one is cajoling another for sex, some one can at least say let me look at your palm first. And more over, it has been suggested that incentives should be given so that HIV people can come forward voluntarily. If the late Philly Bongoley Lutaya had not fore gone his right to privacy, to come out and show the world what was going on, the situation in Uganda, where the majority are poor and illiterate, would be one hundred folds more worse than this present situation that we are lamenting about. Let’s try and remove this secrecy; the scourge is taking advantage of it to silently creep around in our communities. Denis don’t take any of the words that you have said about this back. It would be alright if I caught AIDS and died un-happy, because I have an indelible mark and free medication, as long as I know that the situation is being curbed and that the human race will be around for stays, long after am gone!

Dear Denis thanks for the wonderful idea ! In fact it will save cause those with AIDS will move out with their fellow carriers and in the end they will all die with the disease/virus and leave free AIDS world.
