If your child is very disabled (mentally and physically), its very easy to take a back seat and hide away not wanting to think about nursery school or really any education at all.You can feel that there is no hope and you wont get anywhere. But please believe me that is not true.

This lovely lady came to our house once a week, and brought different toys, for him to interact with, we all thought that there was no way he could try and look at himself in a sparkly mirror with flashing lights on, but he did.
We were given this service for a year and when he was two and a half, lets not forget the 'half', it was time for us to think about stevies schooling.
It sounds so young, you just want to hide them away, but we knew for his development he needed more stimulus.

We did our home work and came up with a special school not far from were we lived
as we walked through the door i cannot explain the warmth, and feeling there was, it was lovely.
The staff were fantastic. you always have doubts before you do anything whether its for yourself, or your children, but we were positive this was the place for him.
In my next article i will tell you everything that is offered in the school, and how quickly development is.
