We as human beings want results from our subjects period. When we work out we try to figure out what's best to the most out of our training. Whether its losing weight, building muscle, dropping body fat ect. Most people you see today at the gyms are trying way too hard to the results they but actually it's quite opposite. What you see is someone on a treadmill or at a machine or even working basic barbells & dumbbells and you'll see them panting, groaning, screaming to work them. Now do you think they're working hard? In my line of training: No chance.
They do all those things to keep themselves motivated but yet their mind isn't even in the right spot. Its out on another planet. Most of them don't have a clue how to really push themselves I say most not all cause the few who do go far in their endeavors. The few who do know what they want to accomplish, their minds are focused at the task at hands and from start to finish they push certain limits.
Now for the most, whom don't, they like to stare at a TV and watch sports, news, history or whatever while they work out. In my opinion that's completely unacceptable. When you train, not only do you need to train physically but also more importantly mentally cause you want to balance that style to what makes you a great trainee.
Now to my point: Working out at a gym is fine and more power to the people who train there and make the best of themselves but is it for everyone, absolutely not. You don't need a gym to get in awesome physical condition and it gets expensive paying monthly fees and spending thousands of dollars of high tech equipment and at the gym you are obligated to wait for a person to be done with an exercise you got to do next. It practically takes more time to wait to do something then doing the exercise at all. When you hear gym rats and bodybuilders tell you, “I train 2-4 hours a day 3-4 days a week and you can to with proper instruction.”
Let me tell you something unless you're superman, you can't go that long training. Now I'm not saying they can't take breaks it's a must but seriously though not including rest periods, they wait for the guy who's taking over at their exercise spot until he's done so all in all these actually train 45 min. to an hour the most including rest periods cause there's always that one guy taking over what you have to do next and he takes a while at times.
Do you want to create a program that can start at your own pace? That's waiting for you to do start instead of you have to wait, or take the program everywhere you go even in the desert? You can and will be in awesome shape by using the power and resistance of your own bodyweight. You are your own gym and your body is the ultimate machine.
Look at gymnasts, some pro football players, ultimate fighters, boxers, wrestlers, most of these athletes train just using their bodyweight and yet they are some of the most conditioned athletes in the world. Bodyweight exercises develop strength, flexibility and stamina in ways weight lifting can't touch and that's saying something. When you can handle your own bodyweight in either odd ways or in an emergency you can take on pretty much anything.
Never believe for a second weights can make you stronger, in some ways they can but you have to pay a price by getting stretch marks, knee injuries, back surgeries and broken shoulder blades, whether you believe it or not these things do happen even if you're a master.
With bodyweight, the exercises you perform will tell you off the bat if you're hurt or not, say you have carpal tunnel syndrome you have bad hands, strained wrists and your grip is just horrible, go outside put yourself on all fours with your butt in the air and start running on all four limbs. This will tell you what you need to do to strengthen that area. This goes for all muscle groups and joints/ligaments. Try a few and research for exercises. You'll be impressed what you can find.
