There are a million diets out there that people are trying out. They will tell you to eat this way and eat that way and you will lose weight. Well I am not going to write a long book on how to lose weight and try to bore you skinny. I just want to drop a few pointers that might help you out on the way to a healthier being.
First, walk more. Stop driving to the mailbox or any small task of that nature. If you have kids, take them for a walk every now and then. People tend not to work out because of the key word “work.” If you make it fun, it is much easier to perform the task that will keep you in better shape. Do some pushups when you are watching one of your favorite shows during the commercial break. Perform squats with just your body weight when you are about to go to bed. Just little things like this can improve your overall functionality.
Another key to breaking the weight barrier is to not worry so much. People obsess over their weight and they are never able to lose any. Just set a goal and begin to pursue it. Make little changes along the way and before long you will see improvement. Try this:
- Cut back on sugar
- Drink less caffeine
- Eat less bread
- Take in more water
- Make exercise (of any kind) fun
These little things can have a huge impact on your life. I want everyone to be healthy and capable. If you are a parent, do you want to be so out of shape that you can not protect your own children? Think for reasons, beyond you, of why being in shape is a good idea. Good luck to all.
