A key to living a long, healthy life is to eat right, stay fit, and keep your body safe.
I know for a fact that most of you readers want to live this way. But did you know, over 68% of the population of humans in America are not fit or healthy? That's over half the population. Many of these people have bad habits, like not exercising, watching the T.V all day, eating fast food, junk food, or any kind of food with a high fat content, etc. Well, luckily, these pointers may help you get in the right direction in leading a great, healthy life.
- Exercise almost every day for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour, whether its biking around the block or working out with an exercise video
- Eat nutritious, low-fat foods as snacks or desserts
- Try to eat lots of healthy foods 3 times a day (i.e.breakfast, lunch and dinner)
- Limit your TV time (yes, that includes video games and computers, too) The most you should be doing these things is for two hour max
- Start taking vitamin supplements, especially fish oil and/or flax seed oil (see below for more details)
Fish Oil and Flax Seed Oil are natural oils that can help you stay healthier. These oils can be found at most stores (i.e., Walgreens, K-Mart, Publix, Food 4 Less, Sam's Club, etc.) Fish Oil is derived from cod fish and Flax Seed is derived from the flax plant's seeds. These oils are known for being rich in omega-fatty acids, a very important nutrient that helps all parts of your body function (Google it to find a list of benefits of these oils). The only "con" of these oils is that it takes a long time for your body to absorb the oil. It could take a week, to even a month.

- TRANS FAT. This type of fat is unlike any others and it can be found in some cooking oils and some fatty foods. Trans fat is basically chemically-derived fat. But unlike other fat, it doesn't burn as fast as regular fat. If you have a lot of Trans Fat in your body, it can take from 5 months to a year to get it out of your system. When buying cooking oil, choose only the ones that say, “0 Trans Fat”.
- USING THE COMPUTER or watching the TV for very long periods of time. Doing this can lead to terrible migraines and headaches (trust me, I know!) These can even eventually lead to a seizure!
