The Joys of Walking!

An easy, free workout for just about anyone!

Imagine a workout that allows you to enjoy all of life's lovely presents. Inhale the freshly cut grass and smell delicious dinners on barbecue grills in summer. In the fall, there is the sound of crunchy leaves of beautiful colors and a crispness to the air. Winter gives an orange glow to the sky and a quickness to your pace.

And spring. Ahh, the lovely time of colorful blooms and sunshine. The birds are beginning to chirp again. It's the first sightings of squirrels, robins, and the occasional butterfly.

My favorite workout is FREE! Walking, where I can admire all that nature and my community has to offer, take my own path, create new ones when bored, speed up or slow down, rocks! I can sing or bring a buddy along and I never get bored. I increase heart rate, tone my legs, and refresh my lungs. I end up with a glow in my cheeks that a stuffy gym doesn't allow.
