Tips on Being a Great Runner

This will help people that may be having some trouble running, that want to be a better runner, or even people that want some ideas for their running.

Running is a great thing to do. it's a great way to stay in shape, make new friends, the benefits of running are nearly endless.! Unfortunately some people might have a hard time becoming the runner they want to be so for those people (or people who might want some ideas for running) I have come up with some ways to jump start your running.

Plan

Plan out what your going to do before you go. Decide how far your going to go, what place to run at, and who or what you'll run with (Ipod, MP3, etc.). By doing this you will be ready for anything because you will know where you are so if something comes up, you will be able to get home. Or you will be able to call your friend ahead of time instead of at the last minute, even charging your “music player” will be a huge benefit because there is no way it will run out of batteries.

Push Yourself

You should try to run a little farther every time or every other time. Jogging one mile a day is good don't get my wrong I mean it keeps you in shape and everything but if you want to be able to run fifteen miles you need to train. First you must work up to it, and then stay consistent, don't work up to it then go back to running half a mile!

Get Proper Clothing

I'm not saying its bad to run in a collar shirt and khaki pants…. Its just that it would definitely help if you wore some lighter clothes. You could wear under armor and some shorts. Or you could wear a T-shirt and some basketball shorts. It doesn't matter but to maximize your energy it would help if you wore light clothes.

Bring Something To Do

If your planning on running a long distance you must bring something to do! If your planning on running two miles, you might not need something to do, but for long distances bring a friend to talk to or a MP3 to listen to.

Join Local Events

Sign up for local events. Such as half marathons, relay races, full marathons (If you think you can do it), there are so many things you can do or sign up for.

So in conclusion, remember to have fun with your running because with steady practice and determination you should be able to run nearly any distance in any time you want.
