We are all strapped for time. When it comes to lack of time usually our weight loss programs are the first to take the hit. Naturally it comes as no surprise that when we run out of time during our day we skip our exercise programs, we do not go near the gym, and thinking about losing weight is the furthest thing from our minds.
However, did you know that even though you may not be thinking about losing weight that you can make minor adjustments throughout your day that can contribute to your weight loss routine?
It is true. Take for instance the large office building where I work. Invariable since I work in a location where there are a lot people that will produce a large number of much needed parking spaces. Most people's first instincts are to try and grab the closest spot to the front door. They want to be the first one in and of course be able to get to their car's first when they leave. We have probably all done this when going to the store or mall. We look for a close parking spot, rather than just the first parking spot we come to.
This type of activity presents an opportunity for you to contribute to your weight loss routine. Walking is a great form of exercise and you can use walking to your advantage. Here is how you implement walking from your car into your daily routine.
From now on you are to park in a spot that is the furthest from the front door to your office complex. Do this for the next three weeks and I guarantee it will become second nature to you. You won't even have to think about it anymore. The amazing thing about this process is that you will be getting in a good form of cardio and burn more calories without even realizing it.
In other words you will be disguising some exercise in with your normal routine of going to work or shopping everyday. Be careful though, do not think that this is the “be all end all” for your exercise routine. You should still make a conscience effort to get other forms of exercise in throughout the day as well as follow a healthy nutrition plan.
As always you should consult with your family physician and get a complete physical prior to starting any type of health, exercise or nutrition program to ensure that you do not overdue it.
