Brown Fat Vs. White Fat

There has been a major buzz about new research conducted on fat cells and their impact on body metabolism as well as weight reduction. Scientists are looking for a new way to manipulate the fat cells in the human body thus increasing weight loss and preventing additional weight gain in the process.

We've all heard the saying, “I've still have some baby fat to lose.” When you are a baby your body contains brown fat cells as you develop these brown fat cells become white fat cells. It is unusual for adults to have brown fat cells. White fat cells retain calories instead of burning them while brown fat cells does the opposite.

Scientists are looking for a new way to manipulate the fat cells in the human body thus increasing weight loss and preventing additional weight gain in the process. Although, there is still more research and lab tests needed before a product or injection can be developed.

Scientists are hoping to find a way to alter human adult white fat cells into brown fat cells as a cure for obesity. Scientists believe that the PRDM16 gene from which protein is manufactured at higher levels may be the key into unlocking the discovery of the battle of the brown fat cells versus the white fat cells.

Experiments using mice fat cells are being conducted now. Wouldn't it be splendid if there was actually a shot we could have administered to us that could completely stop weight gain.
