Cleanse Your Body

Cleansing is a wonderful way to take control of your life.

Cleansing is one of the greatest ways to detoxify the body and increase proper elimination and organ function. The benefits you will experience are endless. If you're trying to lose weight then I personally believe that doing a cleanse will help you achieve your goal faster. Not only will you lose weight but I believe you will turn your life around for the better. There are many different cleanses that you can do. I suggest you go to your local book store and purchase a book so you can read all about how to safely do a cleanse and find great recipes as well. I would like to share my experiences with cleansing. First I would like to quickly go over why this is so beneficial to your health. The basics start with allowing your organs to stop working in overdrive from all the toxic foods that you are consuming daily. When you give your organs a break they can start to do their jobs properly and detoxify your body more quickly. Your liver plays a major role in your metabolism, and you definitely want that to be in top shape if you are going to maintain a healthy weight. More importantly, your colon should be cleansed so you are not storing excess waste or having an insufficient amount of good bacteria. The average person carries with them between 5-25 pounds of fecal matter. This is toxic to your health. It also makes weight loss incredibly hard.

After you purchase your book and read all about why and how you should cleanse you need to decide how you are going to do it. There are all different ways to go about it. There are juice cleanses, smoothies, even herbal pills you can take while following an easy diet. I was of course afraid of being hungry so I chose the smoothie cleanse. I didn't find it difficult at all; in fact I enjoyed it very much. The first couple of days I found myself missing food and thinking about what I would eat as soon as I was done. Soon enough I wasn't missing food at all. I was feeling a lot better, happier, and thinking a lot more clearly. My energy levels rose and my craving for sweets dropped. I was adding soy protein to my smoothies so I wouldn't lose weight because I am on the thin side.

When I was done I gave the book to my mother who has been battling her weight for over ten years as well as a little bit of depression due to my younger brother and sister joining the military. My mother has endured a difficult life due to some health problems. A while back she suffered from shingles, and for a long time she has been suffering from kidney stones. It took a long time for me to convince her to do one and finally after a good year of pressuring her to I finally got her to go on the smoothie cleanse. I was afraid she would cheat and sneak food, but she stuck to it for two weeks. She started off losing 2-3 pounds a day. The second week she was down to 1-2 pounds a day and was a little upset about it but I had to remind her that it wasn't good to lose too much too fast. She ended up losing 25 pounds in two weeks. I was so happy because she immediately lost her depressive state of mind she kept putting herself in. She was happy with herself and happy with her life. She was handling the situations with my siblings so much better. She recently had a checkup and all her blood work came back great, her cholesterol was down, and the doctor was happy with her attitude.

I am sharing these stories in attempt to help any of those who are interested in changing their lives. I am just so happy that my mother is healthy and can focus on her life now instead of suffering from weight problems and depression.
