Here are a few "home remedies" if you will, for curing eczema...
If You Keep Picking, It Wont Go Away
If you continue to scratch the eczema effected area you run the risk of spreading it to other areas of your body and disturbing the effected area causes it to flare up and cause pain. This can be very hard to do but it is the most important thing to do.The Cold Shower Effect
When you take a hot shower (especially in colder climates) the hot water on your skin evaporates quicker and draws the moister away from your skin leaving you feel dried out and itchy. Taking a cold or not so hot shower will reduce the evaporating effect and reduce the chance for dry skin.Good Ol' 8 Glasses
Drinking 8 glasses of water can help in beating eczema. This is pretty much common sense. The more water you drink. The more hydrated and moisturized you will be. Not only will this help with eczema, it can have plenty of other health benefits.Do Your Laundry
Washing your bed sheets can also help in beating eczema. This is a really great thing to do to get rid of all the traces of eczema that rubs off on your sheets when you sleep. Plus, theres nothing like going to bed in freshly washed sheets. This tip also applies to your clothing.Get Humidified
If you live in a cold weather climate it can be really hard on your skin and even harder if you want to beat eczema. When you have the furnace or heater running it dries out the air, and in effect. dries you out which causes dry skin and potential eczema. Find yourself a small humidifier and run it while you sleep. Increasing the humidity in your room while you sleep allows your skin to absorb the moister and help with dry skin and eczema.Lube Up
Rub Vaseline or lotion on the effected area before you go to bed. This locks in the moister and can help to control the eczema.
I would like to mention that doing only one of these tips more than likely will not cure your eczema. Doing all of these tips also may not cure your eczema. These are just a few tips that I have used in the past for beating my outbreaks of eczema. If the eczema persists consult a professional doctor for medical assistance.
