Summer Sun

Most of us do not use enough sun tan lotion to protect our skin from the sun.

Did you know it takes about a shot glass full of suntan lotion to slather on every time you wear it. Most people do not use enough even when they do remember to put it on their skin. Try measuring out a shot glass the next time you apply sunscreen or two tablespoons full. A three ounce bottle of sunscreen contains three aplications.

Four ounces has four applications and so on. Choose a broad spectrum product to block both ageing and UVA rays and cancer causing UVB rays- then reapply it at least every two hours advises Brook A. Jackson, M.D.,assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Northwestern University Medical School

Good advice, Ruby. I am surprised by how much lotion must be used for full protection.

Thank you.

Great advice thanks. Not a lot of sun in UK so when I emigrated to Cyprus I had never used so much sun lotion, I don't need such a lot now but always wear it.

Good info Ruby. I must confess that I hardly ever wear sunscreen. I really should because I live outdoors all summer and get quite burned and baked while gardening. I`ll try to remember this year :)

Thank you all for your comments. It's hard to use enough sumblock. you are dripping by the time you get that much on. When you have a swimsuit on it does take that much though.
