Apples, apples, apples. They say that an apple a day keeps the doctor away. I am a health buff, who always choose what to eat and who avoids meat as much as possible. I am a connoisseur of vegetables and fruits of all kinds. I believe that fruits and vegetables make one healthy because it provides all the vitamins and minerals that the body needs in order to be away from any illnesses.
I have heard about cleansing diet when I was in my twenties. But at that time, I wasn't so concerned about my health because I was young and strong and didn't experience getting seriously ill. I ate every food that I found delicious and devoured everything without fear of getting ill. I wasn't sick with anything and I didn't have to watch my diet.
When I was thirty, I was diagnosed of UTI. I had brownish discharge that left me uneasy. I bought feminine wash and used it to clean myself with no effect. Sometimes I felt itchiness and burning sensation.
A friend advised me to try the apple diet. I haven't done any dieting in the past and it gave me some doubt as to how effective it would be for me. Anyway, the urge to get well and feel comfortable gave me that drive to try it.
Day 1, I ate at least ten apples with plenty of water. I felt weak and had frequent visit to the bathroom due to the water. The following day was better. The weakness was gone and I felt better. I didn't count how many apples I ate. I ate one apple every time I felt hungry. On the third day, I felt totally a new person. I felt very light and strong. The sluggishness I often felt was gone and I felt very different.
The fourth day was the start of a new diet for me. I ate a little rice and vegetables, trying to put back slowly my regular meal. I became a vegetarian from that time on. After a few weeks, I didn't have the discharge anymore and I felt no itchiness and burning sensation.
Up to now, I am a vegetarian and once a year I have my apple diet. If you can have the apple diet for five days instead of only three days, it would be. But make sure your health could stand the pressure you would undergo.
The absence of meat in your diet is very important if you want to really get well. You could eat dried legumes instead to provide the protein that your body needs. You can also have fish in your diet.
I found out that watching my diet made me healthier. I don't get sick now, thanks to my healthy diet and my apple diet.
