Recently, I've been using the new Phillips Sonicare FlexCare rechargeable toothbrush with built-in sanitizer. Let me tell you, it's one awesome toothbrush. I've always used a manual toothbrush, so I didn't really know what to expect. My teeth feel like I've just been to the dentist for a professional cleaning.
The Sonicare FlexCare toothbrush is available in one complete package with everything you need except the toothpaste. The package contains a Sonicare toothbrush, standard brush head, compact brush head, UV sanitizer with integrated charger, cord wrap and brush head storage, travel charger, 2 travel caps, travel case and 3 color code rings. It comes with a 2 year warranty.
The toothbrush has 3 brushing modes, which include Clean, Sensitive and Massage. The Quadpacer, an interval timer reminds you to clean each of the 4 areas of your mouth. For a quick cleaning, the 1-minute brushing cycle in Clean Mode works great. If you have more time, use the 3-minute cleansing routine, which combines Clean Mode and Massage Mode together. Sensitive Mode offers a more gentle cleansing if you have sensitive teeth.
What really makes the Sonicare FlexCare toothbrush different is the built-in sanitizer. It operates using a specially designed UV bulb to kill the germs on your toothbrush, like a mini tanning booth. The sanitizer cycle runs for 10 minutes and then shuts off automatically. If the door is opened during the sanitizing cycle, the sanitizer will stop, which is a great safety feature.
This toothbrush is designed for one person, which may be a problem for some families. Although extra brush heads are available to purchase, there's no place to store them. The price is a bit steep at $169.00, but you may save money down the road in dental bills. Overall, I believe the Sonicare FlexCare toothbrush is an improvement over previous models. It's Sonicare's top of the line...the King!
