Universal Healthcare

Just some thoughts on Universal Healthcare.

Any intervention in a citizen's life by a government creates a dependency. The next step in that process is the government takes that liberty to a level of forced interference into the citizen's life by dictating daily activities such as health care. Health care is then forced on an individual who normalizes the care to individuals, and the choice of the providers. The "free" choice is limited by the provided list of physicians. The lack of "free" choices, government policy and relinquishing individual rights produces a society of socialized welfare, forced participation and socialism.

Although the United States is among most advanced nations in the world, we have a profitable healthcare industry which include major businesses and smaller personal companies. You might think, "Since we are one of the most advanced, why do we not have universal healthcare?" Firstly, there is no provision in the Constitution that guarantees that all United States citizens should be provided or have free healthcare. If the government started providing free healthcare, what would follow as government provided transportation, housing and meals.

America is a capitalistic nation as dictated by the principals of a democracy. If the government started providing universal healthcare strive, where would businesses seek to be profit in the healthcare industry? Healthcare providers will be eliminated with many people losing his or her jobs. "There are huge companies who make billions off the current system and are contributing millions to politicians to make sure we do not end up with Nation Health Care." Therefore this is the advantage, the irresponsible people who don't pay for their health care will be held responsible for what they eat and their exercise.

If we started providing health care it would not only make abortion and euthanasia relative available but children with chronic illness and mental problems will likely be disposed. Why would we want this kind of torment to become available to us? Killing a child, which is highly unacceptable in my eyes, is not only wrong but a sin. "'Thou shalt not kill any living thing,' for life is given to all by God, and that which God has given, let not man taketh it away."(Exodus 20:13 Authorized version of King James)

While some people might say "Well universal health care will cover all of my family and it's free" It is not free whatsoever, it is pre-paid health care, those who obtain their own healthcare purchase it with after-tax dollars.

"Why would we want to put money into a new system when we can't even pay for the ones we have now?" We do not want this to happen. If this was to happen our nation will swiftly become bankrupt and lose it all.

In conclusion, universal health care is not free it reduces patient incentives to find the best possible prices for the best possible services/products available, reduces physician incentives to provide competitive care and reduces drug companies' incentives to provide new drugs and treatments, steals from your wallet to pay for my health care (my problems are your problems, your problems are my problems.). Thus the quality of free health care is not actually free it will deteriorate and the average patron will get sicker. It will destroy your privacy and your liberty.
