Computers are now a part of our life; you can see them everywhere around our life. Although it has been one of the most significant inventions in civilization of mankind, it does have numerous drawbacks.
Today’s computer has taken away the pleasures of writing in a notebook in paper based format ,but one has become dependent on spell checking facilities of notepad or word processor, so much that we tend to forget even the common word spelling.
The other health issues are the eye strain caused by the continuous visualization of monitors mainly the older generation of monitors. Long hours of working in front of the computer monitor will cause undue eyestrain which can manifest as watering of eyes and also redness.
Moreover, there is also repetitive stress injury due to excessive use of keyboard typing, mainly when one doesn’t use any hand rest.
Added to these issues, many studies show that children spent more time in front of their computers, playing video games or chatting then going to the local library or playing in the park around nature. Computers can be harmful in taking away the creativity of children by being dependent on web for many resources, virtually anything on earth. The innate curiosity for how things work around our world is lost by excessive dependence on computers and internet.
Care in use of computers can help in preventing not only physical injuries but also mental injuries in the long term.
