Obese men are nearly twice as likely to die from cancer than slimmer men.

For every 10 per cent above ideal cholesterol levels the risk of heart disease increases by 20 per cent. Too much cholesterol can lead to hardening of the arteries and narrowing of vessels. Although high cholesterol can run in families the most significant factor is a poor diet high in saturated fats as found in cakes, meat and dairy products.
