Patient with a Gastronomy Tube

Gastrotomy tubes are placed to feed pediatric and elderly patients most of the time. Caring for such patients in a safe manner is essential to preserving the life and wellbeing of thees patients. This plastic patient is not likely to flourish on this feed of colored water.

Intraosseous Infusion - Equipment and Procedure

Intraosseous infusion is used commonly when there is failure to locate a suitable veinous site, particularly in babies. This procedure is generally performed in the Emergency Department or the Intensive Care Unit by a qualified practitioner.

Intensive Care Units are highly challenging places of employment. Nurses often do analytical and almost diagnostic work each shift. These questions are typical everyday challenges for ICU Nurses.
