All About Trans-Fats

Before you even get into the advantages of trans fats, you first need to understand what they are.

Trans fats are nothing but hydrogenated oils which are used as alternatives to natural animal fats and high-cholesterol vegetable fats.

These are partially hydrogenated oil. These trans-fat oils or hydrogenated oils may also be called as 0-gram fat oils since they contain very little fat which may be used as alternatives to the natural high fat oils.

They give the same optimal taste, increasing their durability and flavor for a longer time. These hydrogenated oils may be blended with other kinds of oil to maintain their solid state and also reduce fat content. While they raise bad cholesterol levels, they may also reduce the good cholesterol levels. Sometimes they may be less suitable for cooking or baking.

Ultimately, there may be no perfect healthy substitute for natural oils, though trans-fats can be used as alternatives for people suffering from cholesterol problems and obesity.

Trans-fats are also the best economic alternatives.
