Commonly Used Herbs

Herbs that have healing aspects to them.

Hear are some commonly used herbs, and the benefits they bring with them.

To really get the full benefit of these herds you have to use them on a regular base, they do not cure you r illnesses over night.

Studies have shown that if these herbs are used in high quantity they can interfere with some surgical procedures. Garlic is one of those Herbs, so please tell your Doctor if you use large amounts before surgery.

Now with that is said. On with the list.

Nuts are good for you, but you don't think them to be herbs.

Chestnuts: Helps to prevent Thrombosis [blood clots] by stimulating vein walls.

Walnuts : Helps to reduce Cholesterol.

Now for the Herbs.

Nutmeg : It helps reduce flatulence [excess gas] and nausea. [Large dosages can be toxic.]

Cinnamon: Helps prevent nausea and hypertension.

Sweat Bay: Helps to repels intestinal worms.

White Willow: Is used as a pain killer, fever reducer. It is common Aspirin.

Cloves: Helps with nausea. The oil sooths and numbs toothaches.

Rosemary: Aid in digestion of fatty foods, It stimulates circulation and increases blood supply.

Thyme: Aid in digestion of fatty foods. It helps nerves, depression, colds and the repertory system.

Ginger: Zinger; Helps the digestive system, colic. It helps with colds sour throats, nerves, cramps and the immune system.

Turmeric: It stimulates circulation, helps with bruises, gallbladder, inhibits some blood clots, reduces liver toxins, and helps with metabolizing fat and weight loss. It also helps to reduce the chance of cancer cells.

Fennel: May help to ease hunger pains and indigestion. It increases breast milk. It is a detoxifier, and helps to repair the liver.

Oregano: Used for coughs, muscle spasms and nervous headaches.

Dill: Helps with digestion, flatulence, hiccups, stomach pain and insomnia.

Caraway: Aid with digestion and relives flatulence.

Sweet Basil: It helps the adrenal gland and digestion of food.

Parsley : Helps indigestion reduces the release of histamine.

Black Pepper : Aids the digestive system, kills intestinal bacteria, colic and some headaches.

Tea is also considered an herb.

Tea: Cleans you body of toxins, [Green tea is best] and regulates the metabolism, and stimulates the immune system. Black tea placed on sunburn helps to cool it.

Coffee: Stimulates the heart. [In some cases it over stimulates the heart.] Can help relive migraines and chronic asthma. It can also cause insomnia and jitters.

Hawthorn: Helps with all cardiac areas, circulation, heart weakness, kidney disease, artery spasms, irregular heart beat, blood vessels and even blood pressure.

Chamomile: Reduces inflammation, [diaper rash, toothaches] mild sedative, helps with digestion, sooths damaged skin when used in a worm bath.

Echinacea: It stimulates the immune system, restores inflamed tissue and helps to reduce fevers.

Cactus is considered an herb as well.

Agaves: The juice is a laxative and treats burns.

Aloe Vera: The juice reduces scars and speeds cell rejuvenation, helps sunburns, eczema, and poison Ivey rash. The juice can protect you from the suns UV rays if used as a lotion. Internally it coats the stomach and helps to heal ulcers.
