Eating healthy and following a quality nutrition program to lose weight takes a sense of discipline. It takes discipline to stick with what you are following to reach your eventual end goal. That end goal is the day you hit your desired weight, and you will hit your weight.
It all starts with the way you eat and what you put into your body. Your body requires fuel in order to function. If you want your body to function at its utmost potential then you need to give it a supply of healthy nutrients, vitamins, minerals and water. Just as important you need to supply those healthy nutrients, vitamins, minerals and water at the right times and in the right amounts.
Before you panic and start thinking, “wow this sounds complicated,” let me give you the exact outline you need to follow to eat right, give your body the fuel it needs in the right food formats, and when to eat.
From now on you will eat six meals everyday. You will space those meals out eating one meal every two and a half to three hours. On your plate will be one serving of quality protein, one serving of quality carbohydrates and one serving of green vegetables.
Clench your hand and make a fist. Great! You just measured the size of the portions. So when you put your protein, carbs and veggies on your plate you will now that they need to be the same size as your clenched fist.
With each meal, you will drink no less than ten ounces of water. You can have more than ten but no less. Before you run out and get some kind of specialized measuring cup for your water, just fill up a regular glass you already own and chances are it is probably between 10 to 14 ounces.
That's it. Your plan to optimize your weight loss is in place. The last thing you need to do is write everything down and track your progress. Weigh yourself at the start of your nutrition program and then at the end of each week. Make note as to which weeks you lost more weight than others and take a look at what you ate that week. You now have your plan and recipe in place to lose weight.
