Eat These Amazing Fruits for Better Health

Research is proving that these super fruits can ward off illness and improve your health. Pomegranates have been shown to prevent cells from turning cancerous and to shrink tumors that have already formed. Kumquats expands in the stomach and makes you feel fuller longer besides boosting your metabolism.

These are truly the healthiest fruits on earth. To be at our optimal health we should eat some of these fruits every day. They can all be found in most grocery stores. They are somewhat expensive but we can skip the cookies, chips and dips to buy these miracle fruits for our good health. I believe we are worth it.

Researchers now know why people in the tropics have used mangos for thousands of years to fight depression. It's the active ingredient, xanthones. Mangos have a profound effect on the good mood brain chemical serotonin, and enhance tryptophan, an amino acid that aids sleep. Mangos can be found in the produce section of most grocery stores.

Kumquats have only 16 calories apiece and are loaded with vitamin C and can boost your metabolism, according to Studios at University of Colorado. They provide more pectin than any other citrus fruit. Pectin expands in the stomach and makes you feel full longer. Kumquats are small orange fruits about the size of a grape tomato. You will find them in your grocers produce market.

Scientists in California found one small glass of pomegranate juice had more cell protecting bioflavonoids than red wine or green tea. It is even being looked on as a cure for cancer. Studies have shown that pomegranate juice slows free radical damage, which leads to aging of the cells. It is loaded with ellagic acid, a natural antitumor compound, several studies have discovered it not only prevents cell from turning to cancer but also shrinks tumors which have already formed. You will find the fruit and the juice at grocery stores.

Passion fruit is loaded with calming B-vitamins and potassium, which relaxes the nervous system. It is said eating one before going to bed will give you sweet dreams. South Americans eat the fruit to help them rest. Passion fruits alkaloids are proven to lower blood pressure, and just one glass of its juice a day will give you 40% of your daily recommended vitamin C and 60 % of vitamin A. the fruit is found at the grocery store while the juice can be found at health stores.

A Very informative article and certainly well researched. I guess the fact that many of the imported fruits along with many vegetables are being irradiated for our protection we are told affect many of their nutrients including enzymes, certain vitamins and minerals. I often eat fruit instead of desert but I cheat just a little, I must admit that I like cooked fruits with buttered biscuits. I do ration the buttered biscuits though. Good luck to you all and take care. Ruby
