Here are four wonderful reasons why you should grab the wheat bread rather than the donut.

  1. Fiber steers you away from colon cancer. Studies have shown that people who have a diet rich in fiber have less chance of getting the illness. Fiber helps in proper bowel movement which results with the bowel wall being free of carcinogens and toxins.
  2. As stated above, fiber helps in bowel movement, making elimination of waste effortless. Constipation is therefore less likely to happen.
  3. Studies showed that fiber has a significant influence on blood sugar levels. This is particularly important for people with diabetes.
  4. A diet with high fiber intake often results to low cholesterol levels. More importantly, fiber seems to target only the "bad cholesterol" while maintaining the "good cholesterol".
