Herring, small oily fish, usually are found in the shallows of the Clupea. They usually swim in large schools, and make their way to the shores of Europe and America. The herring has played a large role in economics since the 14th century. They can be found in the form of “sardines,” and they also are suitable for fish fillets. Wild caught herring are usually a good source of Omega-3. Omega-3 is fatty acids that are essential to human health, and can not be produced by the human body. Omega-3 has a major role to brain functions as well as normal growth and human body development. The American Heart Association recommends a good source of Omega-3.
