How to Motivate Your Kids to Eat Well and Exercise

You can influence your children to eat nutritional meals and exercise a few days a week while making it fun.

Did you know that you could influence your children to eat nutritional meals and exercise a few days a week while making it fun?

Here are a few examples of parents and children working together:

  • Parents should explain to children that the foods and liquids they consume, affects the way they think, play, work and feel. Teaching kids that unhealthy eating habits may cost the family more money in the long run on unnecessary medical bills.
  • Borrow books, DVD's from your local library on healthy recipes and exercises; get the kids to help pick out the books and DVD's. Encourage the kids to assist in preparing some of the meals; encourage each child to participate in discussions and talk about their likes and dislikes of any meals.
  • Mention to your doctor about the changes your family is undertaking
  • Your doctor may make recommendations or suggestions on some foods or exercise that the entire family may benefit from together. Always listen to your doctor's advice
  • Walking is one of the safest and easiest ways for adults and children to exercise
  • There's nothing better than watching your kids having fun while exercising. It's always great to see your kids exercising and having fun.

Conclusion:

Parents should always help their children start good habits. Parents should lead by example. Chances are, if your kids see your dedication to eating well and exercising regularly, they may join you.
