There are many things about the salt which will surprise you.
The salt is very important for survival of most of the animals and particularly human.
Without the salt, the process of removing the excess of acid from the different body cells especially brain cell is hampered.
Salt also balances the blood sugar level in our body
Salt prevent muscle cramps.
When someone oozes out the saliva in their sleep it is clear indication of shortage of salt. Salt generally prevents the excessive saliva production.
Most of the hospitals and private clinics make good fortune by charging around $300 for salt water also known as saline 4 bottle installed. But they won't disclose the fact that what the patients require is more salt and water in their diet.
There is vast difference between refined salt and unrefined salt as far as nutritional value is concerned.
The taste of refined and unrefined salt is very different.
Refined salt or the common salt which we use daily in our food is 99.9 percent pure sodium chloride. It contains Aluminum silicate for it's free flow property.
Unrefined salt which our ancestor used in their food is only 98 percent pure sodium chloride. The rest of 2 percent is other minerals. Research has revealed that there are hundreds of different minerals and around 79 basic elements found in natural salt. Some important minerals are, salts of Potassium, calcium, phosphorous, Magnesium, Manganese and many more.
In the process of making the refined salt, all the essential trace materials known as impurities is removed and the salt is heated to very high temperature to crack down the original molecular structure of the salt.
To say that Americans need more salt in our diets is ludicrous! Sure most Americans could do with more water in our their diets, but to suggest that a hospital giving a patient normal saline IV is a scam is bordering on insanity. Normal saline is used to boost hypovolemic patient’s fluid levels, and to combat dehydration. The sodium is used to maintain the body’s saline-potassium pump processes at the cellular level. When a patient is brought into a hospital setting, they generally cannot eat or are ordered not to eat pending a diagnosis... the saline IV is the route to replace fluids lost due to perspiration, vomiting, urination, diarrhea, and respirations. Lets face facts… when patients go to the hospital; it is generally for an emergency. The last thing a patient needs to think is that they are being scammed for normal saline IV fluids… if you are going to post articles, please post responsibly.

I never mention in my article that Americans need more salt in their diets. Pl. read the article more closely. Don't tell me that hospitals are flooded with only emergency IV needed cases. Let me give you a good example of how only salt and water therapy (known as ORT) taken orally and not by the expensive IV means has saved not hundreds but millions of lives of below 5 years of children in third world.
Agreed that IV has its uses but if the patient is able to eat, the reason for an intravenous fluid should be questioned. Is it being used as an excuse to keep the patient in the hospital and to scare you into thinking, you would not be able to do these procedures yourself at home.
"Most iv-fluid medications can be given as a pill, but then they would have no excuse to keep you in the hospital or send you to a nursing home. Profit-making dictates prescribing an IV as opposed to a pill."
from research paper "Beware of this: Hospitals are generally profit-making."
