Nine Best Foods for Your Skin

A detailed and helpful list of the nine best food for healthy and beautiful looking skin.

Your skin reflects your overall health. If you fill your body with unhealthy foods, you will be left looking much older. As you see the difference, you will be left feeling more confident, energized, and excited to eat healthy. So, treat your body with the respect it deserves by trying out these foods that are best for your skin.

Low fat yogurt

Low fat dairy products are full of vitamin A. This essential vitamin is great for your skin. It aids the immune system, and because of its antioxidant properties it protects against pollution and cancer formation and from other diseases. It also increases your sense of taste as well as helping the digestive and urinary tract, which many believe helps slow the look of aging. If you have a thyroid problem or diabetes that's even more reason to invest in this

Berries

Berries such as plums, strawberries, blueberries and blackberries are all great for your skin. These fruits have great antioxidant capacity, which minimize damage to your skin and keep your body's cells healthy. All of these things translate to you having wonderful and healthy skin.

Salmon

Your skin needs the essential fatty acids Omega 3 and Omega 6. Both of these cannot be produced in the body, so they must be obtained from another source. A great source of these essential fatty acids is fish, especially Salmon. If fish isn't your thing, then try walnuts, flax seed or canola oil, which will give you the same results. These acids help in skin growth. A lack of these essential fatty acids may lead to a scaly skin rash called Dermatitis. However too many fatty acids can also lead to health problems, so a healthy diet should consist of roughly one omega-3 fatty acids to every four omega-6 fatty acids.

Green tea

Although it is a beverage this drink has polyphenols, which have anti-inflammatory characteristics. It has been shown that it can help repair sun damage, prevent premature aging, and enhance skin tone. It may also help to ward off some types of skin cancer. Green tea is also been shown to have other health benefits and healing qualities throughout your body.

Water

Good hydration is essential for your skin. It is important to ensure that you're getting at least 8 glasses of water a day. Adequate water rewards you with enhanced overall health, increased energy, bright, clear eyes, and a radiant complexion. Water has the ability to do all of these seemingly magical things because it carries nutrients to every cell in your body, flushes out toxins, improves circulation and blood flow, as well as lubricates your joints.

Avocados

This green fruit is rich in B-complex vitamins and essential oils and works like an anti-inflammatory agent. Vitamin B helps to increase blood flow, which leads to radiant skin. Some types of vitamin B helps with skin hydration and miniaturization. It also soothes skin that is red, irritated or just blotchy. You can even mix this fruit with yogurt and berries to create a great, and healthy breakfast drink.

Mangoes

Mangoes have a lot of vitamin A. This fruit will repair your skins' cells so they look flaky. As well as tasting great, they have only 70 calories per serving; so, they are ideal for a weight loss program!

Almonds

Vitamin E helps to moisturize your skin from within. It also protects your skin from damage and early aging. Researchers have discovered that vitamin E can help correct environmental damage that is too often inflicted on skin and can have beauty and moisturizing effects. Eating almonds can help your facial tissue stay healthy and in shape

Cottage cheese

Apart from calcium, cottage cheese is great for selenium. Selenium helps to safeguard the skin from sun damage and delays aging by protecting skin quality and elasticity. Dietary selenium has been shown to reduce sun damage. Be sure to get your selenium from food, though, and not from supplements.

These are the nine best foods for your skin, in no particular order. Eating these foods along with a healthy diet and life style can almost guarantee satisfactory results. So stock up your refrigerators with these ingredients and you could be on your way to bright, young, healthy and glowing skin.
