Six Uncommonly Known Power Fruits

These power fruits have amazing health benefits, but are less known. What are they?

Have you ever seen or heard of these fruits before? They are said to be the power fruits, and usually used in making mixed juice drinks.

As you've already known, people who have a high fruit diet can lower the risk of several chronic diseases.

Acai Berry

The acai berry contains several potent antioxidants, which can boast up to 30 times the anthocyanin in red wine. It is also loaded with vitamins, especially E, and minerals including copper, iron, and calcium. The monounsaturated fat and polyunsaturated fat ratio in the berry is almost identical to olive oil.

The acai berry can help sexual dysfunction, energy deficiencies, immune problems and circulatory conditions.

Camu-Camu

The camu-camu, or myrciaria dubia, is a native fruit of Peru, and contains potassium, flavoroids, vitamin C, and amino acids. It is believed to enhance mood, fight depression, and increase energy level.

The camu-camu can help mood disorders, immune function, and help with viral and bacterial infection.

Bilberry

Bilberry is also known as the European blueberry, whinberry and other names. It possesses an impressive antioxidant property, and proved to benefit eye health. Since bilberry is abundance in antioxidants, it is believed to protect the body against carcinogens, and free radicals. Nutritional includes flavonoids, anthocyanins, and resveratrol.
Bilberry can help eye problems, arthritis, heart attack, stroke, diabetes, diarrhea, and dysentery.

Wolfberry

Wolfberry provides 18 amino acids, 21 trace minerals, and vitamins. It also carries lyceum barbarum polysaccharide (LBP), which is known to help repair cellular DNA.

Wolfberry can help damaged DNA, and sexual dysfunction.

Aronia Berry

The aronia berry contains high amount of proanthocyanins, and quinic acid which is ten times more than cranberries. Thus, the quinic acid helps prevent urinary infection. The nutritional values include polyphenols, anthocyanins, vitamins, minerals, and flavonoids.

Aronia berry can help inflammation, diabetes, and circulatory problems.

Acerola Cherry

The acerola cherry is rich in several nutrients, especially vitamin C, and has over 150 phytonutrients. It includes potassium, magnesium, and other minerals. It has been used to treat fever.

The acerola cherry can also help immune function, dysentery, and diarrhea.

hello.. some berry can be found in the Philippines like camu camu and acai berry it is nutritous berry, well its very informative..

I had never heard of any of these fruits, except cherrys, which are common, i guess everybody's heard of them. I love fruits and most berrys. Looking forward to trying them now. Thanx for the wonderful info.

You're back in business BC, with another fabulous health article. Some of these I've never heard of, but I'm a smoothie lover. I have a glass everyday, which usually consists of at least one type of berry.

They are so good for you.

I enjoyed this posting. One question though, you mentioned these fruits can be purchased online -I have been searching for a website which sells Acerola cherries unsuccessfully. Are there any websites you would suggest?
