Vitamin C is an essential vitamin found in citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruit. It helps to keep a our bones strong, to fights against illness', and to reduce the risk of heart disease. Without enough of this Vitamin, scurvy, a bone disease, sets in. It also blocks the effects of cholesterol in the main arteries.

Research has proven that women need Vitamin C more than men do to prevent osteoporosis. It has also shown that women who take Vitamin C supplements usually are more conscious about their health, and appear to be more fit and athletic than those who do not. Although taking these supplements is more beneficial to women, men should take them too to help with blood pressure and their immune system.
