Cheating spouses are leaving electronic kiss-and-tell trails of infidelity for their suspicious partners.
For a few hundred dollars, a partner who suspects their spouse of being a love-rat can put together a hi-tech array of sophisticated forensic and surveillance equipment to test their doubts.
Catching cheating spouses is big business in the US and Europe and the top weapons in a cuckolded partner’s arsenal are as easy and as cheap to buy as a TV or mobile phone from online outlets.
Here’s some tips on what you could invest in if you suspect your partner is having an affair.
Infidelity test kits
Top of the list are forensic kits that can detect if a cheating spouse has had sex quicker than a CSI investigator can check for blood at a murder scene.
The test kits are essentially a chemical test that highlights bodily fluids on bedding or clothing.
At $150 for a 10-test kit, it’s hard to see why any home is without one.
GPS trackers
These mini electronic gizmos are designed to hide in a car and track every journey to within a few metres. The data is logged and available to download to a computer for analysis with mapping software.
The more expensive GPS trackers transmit the car’s whereabouts in real-time so you can sit at home in mission control with your feet up monitoring your spouse’s every move.
Keep track of spending as well with this one – a GPS tracker can set you back $500.
Telephone voice recorders
Micro recorders left near the home telephone or in the car for listening in on mobile phone conversations are cheap and effective. A snip at $50.
Spyware
Load this software on to your spouse’s computer or laptop and unravel their life – you’ll know every email, instant messaging conversation word-for-word and have a log of visited web sites and online searches. Expect to pay up to $100 for a good package.
Secret cameras
Any innocent looking household item can hide a webcam – some are so small the lens is no bigger than a pinhead. Place them around the house to catch a look at callers at the doors and to see just what happens in the bedroom when you’re not around.
Keeping you in the picture depends on quality and size of the camera – costing anything from $50 to $1,000.
Social networking online
Stick your spouse’s name in Google, Facebook, Bebo and any other online social networking site or search engine you can think of and see what comes back.

Forsaking “Mii” for all others... a modern fable
A US soldier discovered his wife was playing away at home after spotting a suspicious "Mii" on his Nintendo Wii games console.
