There are so many different things you can do to improve your skin. Better yet, they are mostly "natural" and will not cause adverse reactions like dry skin. They are also all very healthy for your body.
Internal Cleansing
A common belief in holistic health is that the quality of your skin reflects the internal state of your organs. To ensure that your acne is not caused by internal toxicity I suggest you look into internal cleansing. Types of cleansing that tend to be very helpful are colon and liver. However it is always a good idea to cleanse all the organs since they all work together. A parasite and heavy metal cleanse should be considered, since the presence of parasites or metals in the body can drastically alter its efficiency in cleaning the skin.
External Cleansing
Most people are preoccupied with this type of cleansing so they buy expensive creams, exfolliaters, soaps, etc. The best things for your face are those that are natural. Try to use organic soaps and shampoos as they will irritate the skin less. A few oils that I strongly suggest for acne include tea tree oil (which is a very strong natural antiseptic) and lavender oil (which helps heal burns, scars, and other facial imperfections). Consider using a dry skin brush to increase the lymph flow of your body and remove dead skin cells. Also, if you like facial masks you should probably use a past made from bentonite clay and water instead of synthetic chemical pastes. This mask will pull all the dirt out of your pores and also keep them fairly small.
Supplementing your Diet
In order for the body to do its job it needs its vitamins and minerals. The ones that usually help acne sufferers the most are vitamin A, vitamin E, Zinc, and a Chlorophyll supplement. There are also some herbs you could take which act as blood thinners or liver purifiers.
Improving your Diet
Anyone who says that your diet is unrelated to acne obviously has never had it. The major culprits seem to be sugars, artificial chemicals, and dairy. If you are serious about improving your acne try cutting these out of your diet (or just dairy!) for at least a month. I guarantee you'll see improvements.
There are a few more things you could do. Perhaps getting a shower filter in case you are sensitive to chlorine. "Oil pulling" in which you swish oil around in your mouth to draw out the toxins. Any sort of oxygen therapy could help. Liver flushing is also a good idea. If anyone has skin problems it is a direct results of a clogged liver so doing these should improve the condition. And of course there are the simple things like drinking tons of water and not being stressed!
