Those who pass three time zones more frequently or I intend to say that those who take long haul flights are subject the bad effects of jet lag on their bodies. Also unlike any other thing there is no getting used to or developing a habit of taking frequent long-haul flights.
The many adverse affects of this include stomach problems, disruption in women/s menstrual cycle, irritability, psychological effects, poor sleep, bad moods etc. This is due to jet lag caused by traveling more time zones. It affects an athlete?s performance and bad for older people. More the number of time zones crossed more is its severity.
The flights traveling eastwards have more effect than those going westwards. While jet lag has no medicine or something to cure it, it cannot also allow a person to get used to it. The only thing to help them is to try to adjust their body clock cycle to the time zone in which they are present at any time. While melatonin induces sleep it was not yet confirmed for use as drugs.
Of-course this remains an area of research and development for sleep-promoting and alertness-promoting drugs.
