Park in the spot farthest from the store. Not only will you get some exercise walking to the store but your vehicle will be less likely to get hit by another car trying to squeeze into a spot beside you.
Think ‘whole grain’. If it isn’t at least ½ whole grain then skip it. This should eliminate the donuts, cookies, and highly processed foods.
Get a hobby. If your hands and mind are busy then you won’t be thinking about eating.
Volunteer. Get yourself out of the house and volunteer at the local schools, recreation office, and church or youth group. There are never enough volunteers in a community.
Swim. Join a swim exercise or fitness club. You will find other people battling the bulge right beside you.
Get things yourself. Don’t ask your kids or spouse to bring you anything. Jump up and get it yourself - think of the exercise.
Join your kids. Go on field trips and hikes or coach their sports team, just get involved.
Turn up the music. Dance to some tunes while you’re cleaning the house. All that extra shaking is bound to use up some calories.
Never pack more than 2 bags of groceries at once. This requires you to make more trips to the car to get the groceries into the house.
